INDIVIDUAL
THE TRANSITIONS FROM DIETING TO INTUITIVE EATING PROGRAM …
The six-week INDIVIDUAL Transitions to Intuitive Eating program covers an overview of food issues that people experience every day. In the program, you will:
- receive the help of a licensed and registered dietitian to reconnect with your body’s signals and learn what, when, and how much to eat so you are better able to eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full
- learn why dieting sets you up for weight fluctuations and why, when you stop dieting and pay attention to your body’s built in signals, you stop the defeating overeating and snack-sneaking behaviors and finally begin to feel good about your food choices
- learn how to challenge the thoughts that say things like, “I’m so bad today because I ate cake,” “I’m going to be good today and just eat healthy,” “I have to lose ten pounds by…”, and “I feel so fat for eating all of these chips!”
- find out how to cope with stress-eating habits and realize that eating is not a chore or a reflection of your character, but a spontaneous joyful experience
By the end of the program, you will say goodbye to our culture’s tabloid diets and feel good in the skin you are in.
GROUP SESSIONS
WHY ATTEND GROUP SESSIONS?
After learning about the concepts of Intuitive Eating with Nancy Kuppersmith, you are eligible to attend the "Follow-up Transition to Intuitive Eating" Group (Follow-up TIE). In addition to receiving more information regarding Intuitive Eating, you will:
- find out you are not alone in your eating struggles
- receive the support, knowledge & encouragement of people who are also in the process of rethinking their relationship with food
- receive and discuss more thoroughly, information regarding the Intuitive Eating process
- be part of mindful eating experiences
- receive helpful learning aids like questionnaires, handouts and guidance to help move your journey to Intuitive Eating forward
PROGRAM DETAILS
We welcome anyone who is ready to be open-minded, desires to change their relationship with food, eating, and their body, and wants to see food as a solution rather than a problem.
